Have you ever wondered how God sees it all from above? So many things going on, so many people praying at the same time, so much suffering in the world … it must be hard! I guess it’s a little like looking out of a plane window. Everything seems so small, so insignificant, and yet it’s so big and important for us all. The big financial buildings, from where the economy of a whole city is decided are simply small boxes on the ground when looking from above. A Ferrari that some hot shot loves to show-off is but a small dot exactly the same as all the other dots on the road. The beautiful size 0 star is practically invisible to the eye, just like all the rest of the population.
This is the best part of plane travel, everything is so toy-like, you may even feel like nothing can pull you down at that altitude. But when the plane lands and you’re back to your ‘original size’, everything goes back to normal in your eyes: how could you ever hope of owning that big financial building? … the Ferrari is so expensive that it’s something you’d own only in your dreams … and that famous celebrity is someone you still idolize simply because she’s a star.
God sees everything and everyone from above, from a high place, where one can see things more neatly and clearly. Like going to the mountains… can you see a mountain properly when you stand at its foot? Of course not. You’ve got to give yourself some distance, some space to see the beauty of it, you know, the postcard view.
Just like God sees everything from above, His children do the same. They’re not held back by every problem that comes their way, every criticism thrown in their lap, or the injustice blocking their way. They see things from above, from a distance, where there’s enough space between them and their problems.
